2024-25 Upper Deck Series 2 Hockey marks the second installment of the season’s flagship trilogy. The follow-up to Series 1, it has several parts that continue on directly as well as other fresh insert themes. Of course, there are Young Guns, too.

2024-25 Upper Deck Series 2 Hockey Checklist Overview

Another 250 base cards are added to the main set. This brings the total up to #500. Two hundred of those found here are returning NHL vets. That leaves 50 spots open for Young Guns Rookie Cards. As usual, these are short prints with one landing every other hobby pack (six per box). Parallels include:

Inserts

The base set isn’t the only place to find Young Guns-themed cards. Young Guns Renewed inserts continue from Series 1. These offer a fresh look at some of the subset’s most popular cards through the years. The difference? Backgrounds feature the art of Luke the Cardist. These have Exclusives (/100), High Gloss (/10) and one-of-one Print Plate versions as well.

UD Canvas expands further. In addition to more vets (1:4 packs) and Young Guns (1:24 packs), there are additional Retired (1:96 packs) and Team Canada-themed Program of Excellence (1:96 packs) subsets as well. Tough Black and White, and Printing Plate parallels are also available. For those looking for continuity from Series 1, Dazzlers, Population Count and UD Portraits are all back with new cards.

The brightly colored Fluorescence has become a Series 2 staple. Base versions have a red backdrop and land approximately 1:36 hobby packs. Gold (/150), Blue (/50), Green (/15) and Magenta (/5) make up the parallels. As far as new content goes, On Tour (1:5 packs) looks to rock posters for inspiration. Each of these has a pair of players along with a list of the places they’ll be heading to throughout the season. Parallels include Speckle (1:38 packs), Black (1:225 packs), Red (/99) and Gold (/10). Welcome Aboard (1:5 packs) highlights key rookies. For those who grew up on Gilligan’s Island, the design can also inspire thoughts of a three-hour tour. Speckle (1:40 packs) and Black (1:360 packs) are the lone parallels for these. Other new insert themes include ElectriCITY (1:5 packs), Ooh La La (1:5 packs), Playlist (1:5 packs), and On a Heater (1:10 packs).
